Kelly Avenue in Portland. The New Group purchased the 8,400-square-foot building, which was built around the turn of the century and served for a time as the German consulate, in 1908. The building was completely renovated to create a truly state-of-the-art facility with full digital sound and video editing, an in-house café, a fireplace and numerous other amenities overlooking Mt Hood, the Willamette River and the South Waterfront Development District. “We spent our first 12 years downtown and appreciated all that the city had to offer, but the timing was right to own our facilities and to locate to the heart of the excitement of the South Waterfront district” said Doug New, CEO and founder of The New Group. “In terms of the building itself, we wanted to own our space and be able to customize it to the way we work. We needed a larger space to accommodate our growth, and we wanted a truly creative environment for our talented staff. In this remodel, we preserved the original fireplace and two sets of ornate doors, but everything else is new, fresh and made to order for the work that we do.” “We took the opportunity to make sure that all our technology infrastructure is first class,” continued New. “Our clients and the type of technology-intensive work that we create require that we continue to make the investments necessary to be the best that we can be.” The New Group’s clients include FEI Company, Hemcon, Adidas, SignaCert, Office Max.. The agency also helps market Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Dolby, Quark, WebMD, RS Medical, Digital Living Network Alliance and Jackson National Life nationally and internationally.
