The New Group is recruiting an experienced web developer skilled in all aspects of web development with extensive working knowledge in PHP and Drupal 6 and 7.
You have experience in cross-browser websites that render on anything from bleeding-edge HTML5 engines to a VT102 terminal. You are skilled at writing beautiful code that's accessible and standards-based. You also know and love content management systems, particularly Drupal, and are adept at both architecting sites and filling in with custom modules, and developing themes.
You're equally comfortable tackling a project solo or working with a larger development team on projects. You are an excellent communicator, friendly and social, and don't fit traditional "programmer" stereotypes. You love working in a team and aren't shy about asking for or giving help. You are comfortable working directly with clients to help them understand the technology aspects of their project in terms that make sense to them.
Required Skills Include:
- 3-5 years in a web developer position working as a part of a web development team within an agency or software development company.
- Experience architecting, developing and theming large Drupal sites, including experience working with Views, Features, Panels, and Devel, experience working with a variety of base theme, developing custom modules, working with external APIs, etc.
- A history of contributing to the community via Drupal.org.
- Familiar with version control via Git and Subversion and deployment processes.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Additional working knowledge in all aspects of web development technologies and standards, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, XML, AJAX, SQL and PHP.
- A level of comfort working across strategic and creative departments to represent the technical portion of a project to ensure we create beautiful, highly functional solutions.
- Ability to provide accurate estimates for your work, and meet them.
